I have been a freelance journalist and copywriter since October of 1987. Since those early days as a staff writer on my college paper, I’ve had thousands of published articles on every subject ranging from technology and education to healthcare and engineering. From 2008 through 2018, I had a weekly, self-syndicated op-ed series called, “Deer In Headlines,” which helped earn a nomination for a Pulitzer in 2010. Somewhere in there, I founded and led the Western Ohio Writers Association an organization that, over its 11 years, helped many of our members rise to the level of published authors and successful writers in their genre.
But along with freelance journalism, I’ve also been a professional copywriter. I have written video scripts, TV segment content, ads, and countless other materials for just about every kind of use.
As a regular guest expert on the WDTN-TV2 program, Living Dayton, I craft my own scripting, including the hosts’ lead-ins and background materials. I also provide the same for other guests, along with coaching for how to be a guest on lifestyle or news programs.
